  President's Message:

Thank you for visiting the Web Site of the Mandurah Murray Vietnam & Veterans Group Inc (MMV&VG).  I trust that  you enjoy the site.  Should you be a veteran who lives in the South West of Western Australia and you are not a member of our Group then I invite you to join.

The objectives of the GROUP are:

a.  To keep alive the close bonds of comradeship and esprit-de-corps created by members of the Australian Defence Forces who served in South Vietnam and all other war zones, conflicts and peace keeping operations since.

b.  To uphold the traditions and guard the good name of the GROUP.

c.  To preserve the memory of all Australian Veterans who died in active service and those who have passed away since.

d.  To assist ex-service personnel when they are in need of help.

e.   To assist the widows/widowers and children of deceased ex-members of the Group when they are in need of help.

f.    That all property and income of the GROUP shall be applied solely to the promotion of the objectives of the GROUP and no part of that property or income may be paid or otherwise distributed, directly or indirectly, to members of the GROUP, except in good faith in the promotion of those objectives.

Membership of the Group shall consist of:

Ordinary Members:  Any past or present member of the ADF or Allied armed forces and their partners if so desired, and ADF or Allied Armed forces Widows/widowers, may be ordinary members.

Social Members: Those who wish to participate in the GROUPís social activities and who do not come under the umbrella of Rules 4a to 4d inclusive.

For those that are Members of MMV&VG, I ask you to use your site on a regular basis and to enjoy the social activities, functions etc. as this is what the Group is really about.  There are regular bike rides, kayaking outings, caravanning and other trips, wives and partners socials plus those activities that your Social Committee go to great lengths to provide for you.  Group members are also invited to attend the Mandurah Sub Branch R&SL Club, Mandurah on each Thursday afternoon from 1600 hours for a few quiet drinks with fellow members. The Pinjarra R&SL has a Happy Hour from 5pm and a $10 evening meal on Friday nights which you are also welcome to attend.

MMV&VG also has a Welfare Officer and Management Committee that is there for the Group.

It is the members that make a Group and you have volunteer members who are prepared to give much of their time to ensure that you are looked after. All I ask for as President, is that you join in our activities so that we can continue to run this highly successful and recognized Group.

            Bruce Rock - Vietnam Veterans 'Back to the Bush Re-Union' each November

Australia Day Lunch - Held at the Clubhouse each year

Crabbing Day on the Estuary held annually

Sundowners - Held monthly on a Tuesday evening at the Clubhouse

Four Wheel Drive Trip - Held annually
